I don't completely disagree, but that's kinda what happened to all of class 7 besides Rean.

on the contrary, emma became more interesting as the games went on

Cold Steel 1 and 2 are factually better than Zero

I'm in the middle of Azure right now and still trying to decide which arc is my favourite. Although I think I'm leaning towards the Crossbell arc.

Also, best girl by far is Sara.

Cold Steel 4 has Zetsugi Mujinken. It is factually the coolest fucking S Craft in the series.

I do think Cold Steel 4 completely destroyed and made all of the Ironbloods unlikable pieces of shit though. Especially Claire. Lechter and Rufus were already unlikable.

It's so weird they double down the dating sim after cs3 tones down the romance choice to just your classmates.

Japan really likes the dating aspect. It's why they won't confirm Alisa as Rean's canon love interest even though they should. They even confirmed Elle is Lloyd's.

There was a Dengeki article for Hajimari and a statement from Kondo that teased their relationship would evolve to the next step. That's probably as canon as we'll get for now since we've moved to Calvard.

They should really just do the same for Alisa and Rean since their bond events really develop their relationship a lot more than Rean and any other girl.

CS4 is a fucking travesty and it only gets worse as the game goes on.

I went with the Alisa because she was the only one that made sense from a narrative point. Rean doesn't fuck his students, and his teachers don't fuck their students.

Haven't looked much into Kuro, but I really hoped the tuned down the harem protagonist bs.

It really says a lot about the whole Erebonia arc when my favorite parts where whenever a character from elsewhere shows up and a jpeg at the end with my boy Zin.

Cold Steel 1 and 2 are better than 3 and 4 though. That seems to be a very unpopular opinion. Zero was awesome though. 3 was pretty good though. Outside of some moments I just finished 4 out of obligation, I think I was just sick of the series by then though. So that could entirely be on me, but they stretched that out waaaaay too long.

Also yeah I went with Fie, I was with her 2 and 3 so I just stuck with her for 4.

They dont take Altina down the romance route
