Dante follows up his triumphant clash with Mundus by changing into a jacket/jeans combo and fighting some mean spirited cages.

Gets a key, uses it to unlock some bars with no visible opening for a key.

The golems don't have that much health but for some reason the game presents them as having 3 health bars.
I'm on DMD, so maybe it's just for intimidation value.

Also damn this game has the DMC3 wall run but 4 and 5 couldn't manage it?

This game has the Viewtiful Joe health bars. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Dark green. Maybe it was just hip in 2003.

Those dogs that deflect off the wall, an Oranguerra rematch and THREE instances of the legend himself, INFESTED TANK all in one level? The title of this topic is delivering. This game spoils its players.
Edit: And INFESTED CHOPPER at the end?! It just keeps going!

I gotta say, the way you fight a bit then run a bit then fight a bit, all with cutscenes sprinkled in between. INFESTED CHOPPER is giving me some strong Resident Evil 6 vibes. Specifically Chris and Piers' fourth level where they do a heli chase scene with two fights.

Arius.
Blunt, cold sounding voice, summons a demon and walks away dismissively before the summon animation's really gotten started.
...And also probably confident that he'll continue to be presented this way throughout the game!

Trismagia fight is too slow. Way too much dodging and waiting for the combined attack.

Hey hold on. Late game boss, Three faces, boss switches between fire lightning and ice, fight that drags on past its initial novelty, projectile spam...
It's like I'm really playing DMC5.

Edit: All is well, the next level is Dante vs Arius which is basically the funniest cutscene in the series before the fight followed by the best line in the series after the fight.

Speaking of Trismagia getting another chance at life through DMC5, I kinda like some of the ideas.

I kind of like the idea behind Arius' fight. You get bosses that act tough then spawn minions. This guy goes all in on it, spams minions, teleports away, casually sits on his tables smoking and drinking or whatever while taking potshots with his pistol. Just fights like a total coward and is loving it. He also gets a pass because his cutscenes in the second fight are funny as fuck.

Nefasturris is kinda fun right at the end when he's chasing you around spamming electricity orbs and diagonal beams.

Bolverk could have been good. Get rid of the dogs he summons. I like the extend-o-sword. The only other thing I can think of in the series that has a move like that is Shadow from DMC1 and that's not even a boss.

I would actually like to try DMD Argosax as a DMC3/4 character. He's immobile so it'd still be exploitable but I just want to know how much royal guard/dt burst abuse you could do. The targets are so close together you could probably hit a load of them in one blast. Also I find the way shit just blasts off in the first second of the fight really satisfying to look at.
Same for Despair Embodied. Make some of the tells on the moves a little clearer and it could be a neat fight. Maybe just take Bolverk's extending sword away from him give it to DE or just combine the best of both into a boss.

Lucia's air DT projectile is fun to spam at least.

Tateobesu is my pick for worst boss in the franchise.
Trismagia still sucks.
Possessed Arius is kinda meh.

DMC2 is still DMC2.
