The action of a pedophile of preparing a child for a meeting, especially via an internet chat room, wih the intention of committing a sexual offense.

so basically anything that Chris Hansen request, right? as long as its illegal.

which means as long as its legal, it cant qualify as grooming?

It needs to be a young quarterback, rookie or second year. You typically want a bridge quarterback to mentor them or an older legend who knows his time is coming to an end. Through coaching watching and practice reps they are essentially being groomed to become the next starting QB for their respective team.

When I think the definition of grooming, I think of it meaning to slowly build up someone to gain their trust for malicious reasons. So, for example, putting a thought into someone's head slowly so they start to believe it to be the truth.

Case in point, getting someone to dress a certain way by slowly introducing them to clothes and saying "you look so good in this, and that t-shirt doesn't suit you". I watched a lot of CSI/NCIS type shows growing up, ergo where I got my definition for it.

There can also be the definition of good grooming, which would be something like a work term for example. My work term taught me how to approach certain IT situations, and also helped me get rid of some of the preconceived notions I had that came from College.

The modern "oh you knew that person as a child and then dated them when they were an adult? You groomer" doesn't really make much sense.

I dont think its pedophiles that do it since they would want to rape the kid before the kid is old enough to consent.

Grooming is basically when an adult is a part of the childs life growing up and they try and build their relationship with them in a sexual/romantic direction so that when they become an adult they are already more willing to deepen their relationship or have sex with the adult that groomed them. Its illegal and morally wrong for obvious reasons
