He invited me to a event that his church is having on sunday. Problem is, I'm not religious. At all. Quite the opposite actually. I think religion is a very harmful and toxic thing at this day and age and it's not something I care to support. I don't really want to disappoint him, but church is not the place where I belong. Chances are its just ordinary Easter service which is neither harmful or toxic. Your experience will be as follows: You go there, get some very good snacks and coffee/juice, then sit through an hour or two of boring sermons and singing. Thats all. If you dont want it, just say so. For the 5-hour event theres a brief 10-minute sermon in the middle, which I dont particularly mind. Id probably do the same thing for a food event. It helps that its not interactive so I dont have to actively participate. If the church part was the main point I definitely wouldnt go to the event.
