Usually go with a friend but he can't go today. Wanna go but I'm afraid of looking like a fool possibly doing shit wrong. I regret getting this gym membership lol. No don't tell me noone is paying attention. Everyone says that. And it isn't true lol

If you're really that nervous/concerned just ask at reception if there's any option to get a PT session or a spotter from the staff for a quick session since you normally do it with your friend and aren't comfortable doing it alone/without a spotter

The option is to go and if you feel uncomfortable talk to a staff member and ask for advice since if another customer is being disrespectful in some form the staff member will either instruct them to behave or force them to leave

As someone who goes to the gym 4-5 days a week I can promise you that no one is watching you.

I definitely felt the same way as you TC, but I definitely wouldn't worry about it. Just go, get swole, and have fun.

Try headphones? Then you can just be in your zone. I suggest to start with 5 min cardio even if you don't usually.. once that juice starts flowing the body will want more. Let's f***in' go!!

I've found it helps to bring a really big piece of uncooked T-Bone steak. When you want to start working out, throw it toward the opposite end of the gym and all the meatheads will run after it and be distracted in trying to eat the meat. Then you can workout without worry of people judging you

^Ignore this asshole. People watch but generally don't judge. Nobody starts in the gym as some swole badass, everyone starts out of shape and either skinny or fat. People also tend to ignore if you're working out wrong, though you shouldn't feel afraid to ask someone you deem trustworthy to critique your form or spot you.

Just don't lift so heavy your form suffers. Keep a nice steady motion and you'll look better than most. Of your unsure of how to do a particular exercise there's a lot of good videos showing proper technique and form.
It's not rocket science

You should always ask someone to spot you on bench. Just use it as an excuse to be able to have some small connection with someone you're curious about. Safety first when working out.
