All 3 items are required to traverse the castle and if you die after depleting them, you basically have to farm them up again

The Crash Bomb boss literally requires every single Crash Bomb to defeat and requires Item 1 too. So if you die, you have to farm your Crash Bombs to nearly full in order to even defeat the boss again (thankfully (....?) walls you destroyed stay destroyed, so you can spare 2 Crash Bombs on rematches)

I haven't tested this, but are you literally fucked if you run out of Bubble Lead for the Alien? >_> It sure seems like it but I haven't bothered to try

Yes

I don't think that's an oversight either. I think they did that intentionally to force you to go back to the start of his castle if you ran out of the one weapon that can hurt him.

There is a strat that you can do to avoid using all the crash bombs. I never did it, cause I only learned about it thirty years after playing the fucking game.

One Crash Bomb Left Trick
it is possible to save one Crash Bomb in your inventory. One of the drones is very close to a breakable wall that protects another drone (these 2 are the ones on the far left). If the player can jump up to the highest platform with a precise 2-tile jump (just adjacent of the higher one), they will be in position to do the trick. The player must now place a Crash Bomb in between the drone and the wall so the explosion destroys both of them, saving an extra Crash Bomb for later.

You can use one to blow up a turret and a wall at the same time. Then you'll be left with one crash bomb to spare

There's nothing hard about farming ammo. It's just tedious.

On the bright side, Bubble Lead sucks ass and the only time you would've used it in the castle is to get past the fake floors. So most players probably didnt run out of Bubble Lead before the alien. If anything, it'd result in players finding his weakness more quickly since everything else would be depleted lol

I sometime use BL to clear any Springers, but even then not a ton of the time

That boss is definitely from another Mega Man game. 7 is such a cakewalk til ol' boy rolls in and grabs you by the E-tanks.

3 is better than 2 but 2 is a MASSIVE improvement over 1 while 3 is a small improvement over 2. 3 does have weird crazy slow down though. I dont like 4 because its controls feel off, i could be crazy. I like 5 but the mega buster is op. I like 6 but its average overall.

NES Mega Man is full of a BS from top to bottom. But some how people forgive it when others are not forgiven.

Honestly i love 2s music more. 2s wily castle is bad imo but 3 has that crash man fight and 4 doc robot stages that have 2 bosses each and then the wily stages so the game does feel really long for a mega man game.....

4, 5 and 6 were worse. Two entire sets of castle stages in each.

The Doc Robot stages were a bit unnecessary but still
