Trust me, I love lentils especially with a nice cucumber salad.
I don't mind using some soy chunks in my lentils for some added texture and taste.

This is where I stand. Like don't get me wrong, I appreciate how common Beyond/Impossible products have become because it is nice to be able to go to any given restaurant and be reasonably sure there is something of substance on the menu to eat, but I'm never seeking it out.

I'm like that with red meat. I can totally do without chicken but my body still craves red meat from time to time.

I like tofu and tempeh. Those are my main protein choices.

But those faux meat products can be a nice treat time to time.

I usually lean more into the tofu and legumes but there are some pretty good fake meat things now. Gardein is the best big brand I think. Nuggets, brats, the ultimate veggie burger. Tofurkey Italian sausage is one I really like too.

The best modern thing to happen to vegetarians / vegans is an obsessed scientist's mission to make brussel sprouts not taste like crap. Everything else is a distant second.
