Yes, extremely.

it was very good in many ways but ultimately fell into the same old open-world "mark point of interest --> fast travel to closest fast travel point --> fly to point of interest --> complete point of interest --> repeat" trap.

but the music, the atmosphere, the attention to detail, the design, it was all absolutely top notch. especially hogwarts. everything outside that and hogsmede somewhat was very empty.

combat was ok too. pretty fluid but a little repetitive.

I've noticed that the only people saying it's good are nostalgia ridden fans with a high tolerance for Ubisoft formula and low standards for what a Hogwarts Student simulator really should be.

It was great for fans of the movies. I would love a game like this with some actual interesting gameplay. Its an 8/10 for me solely because I was a fan of the books and movies for legit like 15 years or so. Without that to influence me it barely hits 6/10 for me tbh.

It nailed the atmosphere, but yes, its just a generic open world game that really could have been infinitely better.

Not to say Im not having fun cursing things left and right though.

It was pretty good but it definitely is more generic open worldy than I expected it to be. Would have liked it to feel more like a slice of life game but it is as generic an open world as you could make. But it's a fun world at least.

Didnt like how nobody had a legit story outside of Poppy, Sebastian and Natty as well.

Combat is also a drag as you get to the end game, every enemy you can imagine is a damage sponge. Also dont like the level scaling in combination with the sponginess. There were some story missions where the enemy was a few levels below me and that felt proper, took them out with a few hits as I should be.

Never really cared for Harry Potter or the Wizarding World, but I enjoyed it a lot.

My Fiance is a Harry Potter nerd and she's been enjoying it a lot too, even if she doesn't play a lot of video games.

My wife enjoyed watching me play it. The Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmead sections were a blast to explore, but yeah it then becomes a generic open world game. It's strange because there's a lot of things this game does right like feeling satisfying when it comes to things like combat and flying, but it also does a lot of things I dislike about open world games as well. I also felt more like a mercenary than an actual student. I felt this game is trying to please everyone, but it doesn't know what it wants to be. Does it want to be a school simulator? Open world game? Cinematic game?

I feel the same about Pokemon and Sonic when it came to their open world games, a good starting point to build off from and improve. I personally give it a 6/10, but my wife gave it a 9/10.

I think they confirmed no DLC is in the works. Your "classes" are learning a spell and a little montage of the class and that's that. I was hoping it would be more like Bully where you had a schedule but alas.
