Aye - not counting guest characters like Noctis, Negan and Geese, there was Leroy, Lidia and Fahkumram. And technically Kunimitsu, I guess, as she's a new character taking on an existing mantle.

Harada said the old costumes were in. Didnt say how many though, Tekken 7 had I think 4 for each character.

Glad Leroy's back. I figured he was popular enough despite his controversial gameplay. I just hope that he's still really good but not broken-tier like he was in T7. Also hoping to see more Sugar (his dog).

Also cool that Asuka is confirmed but there was never really a doubt that she'd be in, given her well established popularity. I'm not even sure what her default costume is supposed to be here but I'm not too concerned since she's kind of middle of the pack for characters that I actually care about.

Can't remember which Evo Japan it was but there was one where Top 8 was like 6 Leroys and people were not happy lol

meh every character is controversial and "broken" when 5-10 people main them with excellence online.

Law was considered broken too for a little while because his fist combos were too relentless to block...until people figured out his open windows and then he became a non-discussion ever since.

That's true, but I feel like a lot of "broken" characters just had a couple overtuned tools and a phase where people just had to learn the matchup.

Leroy however legitimately had the best version of every tool in the game. If your character was good at something, 99% chance Leroy was better at it.

And one of those top 8s only experience playing Leroy was fucking around a couple of minutes before tourney time. Dude's broken, and hopefully Tekken 8 will give him some desperately needed nerfs.
