iirc it's possible for pythons to eat alligators. It's been found before. But I think generally speaking the alligator wins.

Maybe. The video I saw at the time they did both walk ("walk" lol) from the fight alive. I was surprised to learn pythons even hold their own at all.

There was a news story out of Florida some time ago about an 18' Burmese python that killed and tried to eat a 5' alligator. It ended up being too big and the snake died trying to swallow it.

A 16 foot tall python is a tough draw for a gator that's only 10 feet tall. Height matters.
