I've really been digging this show. It's weird, but fascinating. Like a twisted version of a soap opera.

-Most shows leave you with one cliffhanger, but this one has several. Was not expecting to end that way either.
-So many twists and turns and secret alliances you'd never think of.
-The show is supposed to be partly black comedy right? I was laughing during the funeral scene with the casket mishap. I hope it was intentional and I'm not just a sicko. I feel bad for Leland Palmer, but sometimes his dancing is funny.
-The scene with Bobby and Dr. Jacoby changed my opinion on Bobby a good bit. He's still a bit of a prick, but I sympathize with him a lot more. He doesn't seem to be a total scumbag at least with that scene and with helping Shelly. I like his dad too and their little scene together towards the end.
-I never seen much of Kyle MacLachlan in stuff, but I really like him in this and the character of Dale Cooper in general.
-I was kinda expecting the show to go all Lovecraftian when the Bookhouse Boys came up and were talking about fighting the evil within the town. Maybe it will eventually.

I've heard the 2nd season has sort of mixed reaction and that even David Lynch doesn't care for it. I'm still going to check it out of course.

Yeah, it's definitely part black comedy and twisted homage to a soap opera.

The 2nd season is pretty mixed. The first few episodes are pretty strong, but there's a lull in the middle where things are weak-- notably when Lynch & Frost, both creators, were busy making movies & not involved with the show-- but the last half dozen or so episodes pick back up and the finale is great.

The 3rd season (made 25 years later) feels much more like a trippy Lynch movie, so it's a lot weirder than the first couple of seasons.

It's David Lynch, there's no real intent behind it. It's just supposed to seem deep in some way.
