I took in this neighborhood stray who's actually extremely docile. Guessing must be somebodys, cause he keeps trying to get inside the house. Anyway Ive been feeding him everyday, but...not a fan of their attitude. I just fed it, just takes a few bites then goes back to meow at me which I ignore cause wtf more do you want I just fed you. Anyway he eats at regular intervals during the day, but after a while he doesnt want the food thats already there and asks for new food. I just do like im going to give him more food and just throw in a few fresh pebbles which tricks him into eating the rest of the leftovers.

Also you cant really play with cats. At least not the way youd do with dogs. Petting him on any other place than their preferred area rapidly prompts to whining and bite attacks. They just want to be left alone UUUNNNTIL they decide they want pets and come to you...for which they probably want something. Anyway I realize why they say owning a cat is a test of respecting boundaries and has taught me somethings about myself. At the same time, it is not what Im looking for in a pet. So Ill just keep feeding the cat and keeping a casual relation til I can find someone who wants it or find the original owner....since it seems Im fucked cause the damn thing doesnt want to leave.

He's so extremely docile that I imagine he mustve been neutered early on his life. He doesnt fear, back away from strangers. Has a lot of patience with my kid...etc. You know thats not a street cat.

Right? Thats a big part of why I decided to "keep" him. Stands out from your garden variety stray. Also I do have to say that feeling a cat purring while theyre sleeping on top of you is a top tier feeling and its pretty soothing. Makes it all worth it.

While im here...gotta ask if its normal for some cats to feel bony? He has decent weight/belly, but on top you will rapidly feel his spine as if theres almost no layer of skin. Wonder if its a breed thing or its normal. He must be at around 5 pounds? Mostly hair though. But he has good apetite. Also no idea how old he is, but he doesnt like to play much so Im guessing he must be pretty adult.

My cat was bony like that and she was fine.

She was pretty quick and agile and ate decently.

dude houseplants are far easier to kill than cats.

if the cat likes you (and seems like it does), keep it unless someone claims it.
