How far cam we dig? If we can get to earth's mantle even a few kilometers deep we dont even have to worry about garbage anymore

Shooting it off into space is probably the best option. We're never colonizing another planet so don't gotta worry about making a mess somewhere else. We're not gonna reverse climate change so might as well speed it up with all the rocket launches.

Yeah, um... we'd need more rocket fuel than we could produce in a year just to send half of New York's daily trash into space.

Sigs are rather pointless, except if it's to showcase animation and images.

Aight someone should work on that. Hell, doesn't even have to make it to space. Let the ship blow up mid launch who cares

Ok so rockets are a no-go

But what about a very large trebuchet?

I've heard of the concept of spent nuclear reactor fuel being disposed of in a similar way (giant bore-holes made using the same machines used to extract oil) but that's relatively tiny amounts compared to the disgusting scale of the plastic garbage we produce. Maybe it could be done but there's no economic incentive so it won't

Even if it WAS somehow efficient, it would never make it out of Earth's gravity. We'd just be cluttering up the orbit satelites use, eventually making it so we can't launch anything at all off this planet without crashing into space junk.

If you just wanna incinerate shit, maybe keep doing that on Earth.

What if we build a trebuchet so big it can launch trash into space

If we can get to earth's mantle

That's not happening without some kind of planet destroying asteroid or super volcano
