I was talking from the perspective of the player assigned to defend it. Presumably "defend" would mean more than just assign blockers like it was a planeswalker.

As a standard card it's good. Explosive Veggies with a body is strong.

vindicate effects will still get them. tbd whether they will cause them to flip or not, but i'm leaning towards not. defeat != destroy, but reminder text can be iffy.

even without that rules text, TDFCs only have the characteristics of their front faces (in this case, the battle side) when not on the battlefield or stack, and transformed. so, it's not even a creature card in your library or hand.

edit: that rules text is so it's not a land on the stack, which is... problematic.

Yes. Planeswalkers are a good example of this as these will likely take a lot of the same rules as them. On Planeswalkers you have Loyalty counters that dictate how long they will stick around for as well as what abilities they can use.

And proliferate would interact by letting you put on an additional counter.

these things will likely use counters like planeswalkers, simply because players are already used to that, but that's far from a guarantee. i can think of several other ways things could go. counters could tick up or down. they may tick for damage, combat damage, for instances of damage or combat damage, or even just as a trigger if damage or combat damage was done to them that turn.

speculation is fun, but it's probably easier just to wait until (probably) tomorrow morning.

also, remember that they probably won't all be sieges. other subtypes might have different ways to interact with them, too. a field battle, for example, might have the casting player attacking to gain counters, and everyone else attacking to remove counters, with a static ability while it has at least # counters, or an activated ability that removes counters as a cost.

To be fair that one really isn't going to matter. You are going to use the ability on your turn 100% of the time as you want to be attacking with it, so at most it's the difference being usable as a combat trick: not really that big of a deal. They will still kill it in response to the flip regardless, etc. This isn't Level Up where being a Sorcery kills it, it's just too much of a cost in the first place to really factor in there much.

Otherwise the card is good, but in a tainted way. I get severe Reaper of the Fells vibes from it. It will probably make mono-green viable, but not stand-out.
