The video sorta lacks a visual direction but makes for a decent performance/choreography video.
Chaeryeong taking over more of a track actually turned out well imo.

The image as a quartet has been decent. If the chorus of "Born To Be" was a little more thought-out, the general sound has been pretty good.

This one's much better. Yeah they're okay as four but Lia never hurt, hope she comes back soon. Their solo songs are alright also, I think Yuna's is my favorite but maybe mostly just because of her.

I'm never 100% sure how that list really works amongst the voters. Nancy seemed to have a relatively quiet year, so I'm not sure how that one happened. But without question she's been a standout visual from the start more so when not in the goofy attire MLD threw at her.

Interesting picks to me at least within the K-Pop sphere were:
ITZY Chae She's been on this list, and I think rightfully so, but I'm a little surprised Yuna wasn't on that list at all, but maybe my eyes are just missing something. Also interesting that her sister is nowhere to be seen.
LSF Kazuha I think she does deserve this kind of recognition. It seems for the most part she's got the most minimal changes in stage looks because what she's got already goes a long way.
XG Harvey XG usually makes her look (and sound) weird, but she's definitely had better looks in her previous years modeling. It's cool she still makes this list.

I'm kinda being a snob, but I don't know about influencers being on this list. Technically there is no such restriction but while I can respect that they do their own grind to make a living (and in all fairness are also attractive in their own right), it's just a different line of work from actual professional modeling/acting/music, etc.

There is of course the dark subject of how many or few names on that list are actually 100% natural, but this is a very subjective list and it's a weird superficial room for outright judgement. It's a fascinating thing all in all. Can't really scrutinize anyone.

It's extremely subjective lol, don't read too much into it. I'm not even sure how much weight the votes carry, I think those are more of a preliminary round, in the end it's basically a bunch of fans that get together and have the final say. It's funny because in the beginning it was mostly actresses (Candler is a film critic), and there were barely any Asians, much less idols, but as time went on it became more global, it became more of a popularity contest, and apparently they're Kpop fans as well lol, so... the fans and the industry got wind of it and now everything just feeds on itself. But yeah take it with a big grain of salt, my guess is it was probably just Nancy's "turn" to win.

I was just replaying this during the past week.

Believe there's an album upcoming, but wasn't sure if/how much damage that Rodrigo song did.

This and "Mr. Vampire" are trending towards a better sound for me. Lyrically, it's so-so, but the general arrangement is something I was looking for in departing their past sound. I can see Lia can get inserted vocally. Not sure about choreography as they're running a tighter style.

Different. Not sure I'm enjoying it as a whole, but a cool vocal showcase. I know they did do that live showcase, but I wasn't really into Young K in that mix (no pun intended)

It always surprises me how different our tastes can be overall (I mean even only counting female artists) but also how much I love a lot of your choices.

So, some unpopular opinions.

• NewJeans just doesn't work for me. "Attention" was a great debut, but most of their stuff sounds the same. It's all catchy but there is no substance. More importantly, their vocals are indistinguishable from each other. This is a big no-no for me since I value a good vocal.
• JYP's stuff the last few years has been a complete miss for me. Everything post TWICE has been very disney channel/kidz bop for me (I love "Fancy", though).
• Stray Kids lost me when their main vocal was kicked from the group.
• NMIXX can sing, but they don't sound cohesive as a unit at all. Lily is hailed as the best vocalist of her generation but her tone is nails to a chalkboard for me. I do like Sullyoon and Haewon, though.
• I was surprised to like Jinni's solo stuff way more than anything I've heard from NMIXX.
• ITZY has been plagued by these issues since their debut. I do feel like the more they flop the more interesting their sound gets, though. They definitely chose the wrong title track this time.
• LE SERRAFIM suffers the same fate. I did not like Yunjin's voice at all during PD48, I actually think she got worse. On the other hand Chaewon has really came a long way. Unfortunately she can't carry the rest of the group for me. It's too bad about Garam because she has a better tone than the other girls. "Antifragile" and "Eve, Psyche..." are cool but "Fearless" / "Unforgiven" were awful.
• BABYMONSTER is atrocious.
