I'm playing on Hardcore in Chapter 1, and the village is as tense as I remember it. Haven't made it past there yet, because holy shit, there are a lot of Ganado.

I returned RE4 on the Wii cause I found it too hard to aim with the wiimote
The manager at the gamestore was totally fine with it and let me get the mario rpg one instead

I never played the og but I just ran around the village like crazy taking pot shots at the ones I couldnt avoid, also on hardcore btw

Only after I started exploring I found the very obvious holdout with the shotgun and hand grenade and felt like an idiot

Do you get anything for killing / beating the chainsaw guy?

i played with one of those attachments. seemed to help.
but the controls are harder compared to a controller setup.

I spent most of the time running for my life, which is probably how I got through it for the first time in the original as well. I was still struggling with the controls since theyre different than re2makes

This game also seems to have an issue when it comes to kicking down ladders. Sometimes it will just rapidly switch between jump down and kick down the ladder. I got killed when I tried to kick the ladder down but I ended up jumping down into a group of like seven guys and they staggered me to death.

RE4 on the Wii is the superior experience and it sucks that you obviously can't have the same experience with REM4KE

It doesnt drop out until you pick up the herb. I cheesed the whole thing (including Dr Salvador) by standing at the top of the ladder and shooting into the crowd, and throwing my nade i got from next to the shotgun. If they make it up the ladder just shotgun them in the face.

Going by the demo, they knew every spot where you could cheese it and found some way to mess with it. The house across from the shotgun house used to have a choke point bedroom with only one entrance; they added a window. If you try to loop around the shed too many times, the villagers will move a cart to block your path.

Im on ch4 and playing on normal. RE games are meant to be played on normal first so NG+ is manageable on hardcore and whatever else they have in store. I dont envy you lol.

you can just stay in the tower, as long as you don't fall down the hole you can keep shooting them in the head.

The cabin sequence was fucking brutal

The game recommends hardcore if you played the original but idk this seems significantly harder than the original game is, feels like I'm barely making it through the big encounters

I finally played it, got to the first merchant.

I guess the demo was a little more difficult than the actual game? It was kicking my ass, but I'm doing alright. Or maybe playing through the original actually helped me instead of hurting me.

Red9 got mega nerfed. It's pretty mediocre now and with there being ammo craftingbit wastes a lot of space
