So i've gotten into Pokemon Shiny hunting within the past year and have doing what are called dream team quest where you hunt a full team of shiny pokemon to beat the game with. I've done this in Pokemon Crystal and Firered so far with Firered being the one with all full odds. I recently started a Pokemon Ruby file and am going for a full "Dragon" Team. There aren't enough actual dragon pokmon in Ruby to catch so i'm counting the Dragon egg group for this hunt so obviously I went with Treecko to start. Fast forward and after shiny Treecko I went for Shiny Swablu which proved to be hell on earth. After a total of 43,676 encounters I finally got the yellow bird. I got a Shiny Zangoose, really cool shiny, two seedots and a nuzleaf in the process. All but the Nuzleaf were over odds with a Seedot taking almost 13k. Swablu is the most common encounter on the route at 40% so i got really unluck overall. To also put this into perspective this hunt by itself took longer then my entire Firered team which took a total of 33,737 resets/encounters. Next up is Trapinch so hopefully it can't get worse right?

Dude it's gen 3, just RNG. I'm a shiny hunter too but I can't imagine doing RE in gen 3.

Eh I guess. I'm at point in my life where i'm working two jobs almost nonstop so shiny hunting takes almost no effort and keeps the mind busy when I have downtime especially at work, which I have a lot of. But I still do like to do it while watching Youtube or something.

Its actually not too bad imo. Quick encounters and Gen 3 runs so smooth after hunting in other games. Ruby starter hunt so much more enjoyable then Firered even with the risk of seeing the Poochyena, which I did.
