Cody asking about dayvigs and Ben triggered me a little. If he actually is a dayvig, that could explain his curious reaction. I also kinda liked his claim because it sounded genuine. I liked it a little less when he started to act all sheepish about it again and I think at this point its better for him to be clear about it either way.

As for the 'catch' Kirby used against Cody. It was fair as a reaction test but I dont think it could be much more than that since I dont see how a mistake like that is more or less likely to be made by town or scum.
(Unless scum does have flavor for some reason. So I guess I will keep that in mind if scum ever flips with flavor)
So in a way I can see Kirby backpedaling, but I also dont know how else he expected Cody to answer.

Besides its not so much the backpedaling, but the stock phrasing around it that makes Kirby sound fake.

I also thought it sounded fake, but then i thought back to his first post in Mario Mafia - han and lea both jumped on him for how bad he sounded and he was town backup hero who ended up saving the game.

My immediate impression of Red was, "oh he's gonna play hard this game, cool." I feel like that was a weird justification to make.

My one issue with Peaf's sudden turnaround that it was a joke is that #159 feels genuinely salty that no one was taking him seriously.

But you're right and I hadn't really registered it yet, by Red standards he's actually active. This must be the end times for sure.

Like I said last game, I realized that rereading my posts was an absolute chore, so I try to be more concise nowadays lol

As for Cody, I kinda expected him to double down, but him responding with a non-alignment indicative "I misread" threw me off. I mean, how would I argue against that? "No, you definitely did not misread!" So I figured that train of thought was a dead end and dropped it. In any case, the contradiction was pointed out, so we'll see in time if it becomes relevant again.

Because with red you never know how much you're going to get. He's not like you or me where he's going to always be posting, even to the point where it's potentially detrimental to his job.
So while he was here I wanted to see if i could squeeze a few more. I consider it a success.

Whether it'll ultimately be useful? I can't say right now because I'm not talented enough to predict the future.

I can understand Peaf's justifications. We've all pointed out that Red has been a lot more active than he's historically been for Day 1s (with last game where he was scum being a great example). It's an oddity, and I could see Peaf genuinely trying to milk Red for more posts before Red decides to go off to Disneyland again.

Can't say the execution was stellar, but it's a solid defense at least.

I felt that red's argument to me was bad, yes.

Red tends to be a moody player like I am, so I don't consider it to be reflective of his alignment in any capacity.

Side note: Wall's posts on page 1 and 2 nag at me a little. A few useless posts, a leading question about Ben and Red that isn't actually content, and a post that effectively assumes everyone who hinted at being vig is actually vig.

Cody does look the most questionable so far. I looked horrible immediately last game despite being town, so Im aware I shouldnt be too quick to judge another new player, but I agree with red that his opening post gave off a weird vibe, and his subsequent posts didnt do a thing to set my mind at ease.

Peaf is somewhat on my radar as well. Its not glaring but Im still struggling to reconcile the defensiveness of post 159 with the of course I wasnt being serious tone of post 165. Calling it an experiment, entirely ridiculous and saying youd put a vote down if you believed yourself all in the same breath feels like a disproportionately big reaction to this, I dunno. In this game, dont people say things they believe or are heavily considering without hastily voting on it all the time?

Yes, and I think the fact that Cody could have believed JC was just referring to flavor text is a reasonable. Basically I think Kirby's "catch" is a stretch.
