what's being snitched about doesn't necessarily have to be illegal (like about infidelity) or even morally wrong (like "outing" someone).

I think it's wrong to meet snitching with violence in most cases, though, but if you betray someone's trust, in a scenario where the snitching wasn't necessary, and it leads to that person getting hurt in some way, then that's maybe an exception for me.
