We had a Big Lots in town when I was a kid. Pretty junky store, wasn't maintained well at all. It was a cheap place to load up on candy though and the store had a mini arcade with some obscure games I still don't remember the names of.

I've been there a few times. They bought out an old discount store called Pic N Save in the early 2000's. So most of their locations are just Pic N Saves that got renamed (apparently in other states it was MacFrugals).

They have decent sales sometimes, but not enough that I go there often. My mom loves that place though

I recently bought a queen size bed from there that was on sale. It's awesome.

I bought the furniture for my basement there.

Needed "cheap" furnishings because we obviously don't use the couches and stuff down there as often, and they seem to have the best discounted stuff of the places near me.

It's your average discount store. Lotta off-brand items.

You can find some neat things there, but by and large, it's garbage. I bought a handful of pieces of furniture from there in college and, without fail, they all sucked.

I mainly associate it with

1.) Not being well maintained
and
2.) A place for cheap furniture

Yeah, you can get some snacks and stuff for cheap. It's not my favorite store, though.

It's as if Walmart had a baby with a Dollar General

I only got one piece of furniture from them and the thing feels like it's at least not the cheapest particle board ever! lol

A loooooong time ago. The last thing I remember buying from a Big Lots was Z-Bots.

My mom calls Big Lots "Shit World".

I still remember the whole shopping center where Big Lots was. Right next to it was a Family Dollar, then a store for old ladies called Spurgeon's, the video store I spent most of my free time as a teen, a Little Caesar's, and the DMV.
