I find it highly suspect that one race will create the genophage AND a countermeasure and yet another race also planted a big fucking bomb in case both of those fall through.

Krogans are seemingly very violent and not very smart yet reproduce very fast. The game wants you to feel bad and cure it but 2 different races essentially keeping their population in check for such a long time seems to suggest they deserve it....

I cured it and then Wrex immediately made me regret it

I mean who am I to say that an entire race should cease existing? I am against genocide simply put

When krogan meet up it always seems like they want to immediately kill something and wrex has to head butt them to shut them up.

The females seem like their only hope....

It was pretty much a necessary evil. There could be in-universe arguments as to what extent they needed to go, but there would have simply been no other alternative short of absolute Krogan genocide.

And theyve shown wrex and grunt running into what seems a suicidal charge at groups and then still survive.

That's why the only way for Mordin to survive is dead Eve and live Wreav.

They ruin every planet they habitat. Krogan were angry before the genophage, there's no reason to believe they will be or stay peaceful after a cure, even with wrex and eve in charge.

Yeah: great point: their planet looks like shit. They make it sound like it was nice at one point too.

I like the krogans being these krazy savage brutes but outside of war it seems theyd just start fights for no reason.

Hell whats to say they dont just wait to multiply enough to kill taurians AND solarians...

Sure in real life and were talking human races but if there was a group of humanoid super lizards that were violent and reproduced extremely fast......

"It was the answer at the time" is the constantly used justification.

It's hard to decide whether I "agree" with something that we don't necessarily have 100% of the personal context of the time.

Of course I cured the genophage. Again, best decision at the time given the threat of the Reapers, and I believed the krogan as a people could turn the corner.

But unilaterally deciding that a race of people is inevitably unable to coexist with others no matter the circumstances is not something I agree with.

Especially after the fact of them having been uplifted specifically for their ability to reproduce and get violent.

I do appreciate that it's truly the greatest question of Mass Effect, moreso than the quarian/geth question.

I just worry the amount of head butting involved in normal conversations/arguments with them.

The females, from what little we see, seem cool in comparison.

Didnt Mordin say that without the genophage the Krogan would have either wiped everyone out or forced everyone to wipe them out.

I do agree with it. Imagine if cockroaches were the size of Krogan. Would you want them reproducing at the rate they do right now?

Cockroaches are not as sentient as Krogans. They are insects. Krogans are people.

Didn't they have the opportunity of peaceful co-existence? After the Rachni Wars they were given their own system of planets that they could expand and build on, only instead of just doing that they expanded onto worlds that already had occupants from other allied civilizations, wiped them out, and kept on growing.

The Krogan had several opportunities to turn their behavior around. They had that opportunity after they scorched their own homeworld, they had that opportunity after they were uplifted by the Salarians, they had that opportunity after they won the Rachni wars, they had that opportunity after when they were gifted spoils from war, and they had that opportunity when the Citadel was begging for them to stop their encroachments onto allied planets. I cured the genophage too because it was right in the moment, but how do you assign blame to the rest of the galaxy that tried everything they could to peacefully co-exist with a species that didn't want to?

"Assign blame" is such a telling phrase here. Feeling that there must be "someone to blame" means there is someone to be punished.

Everyones downplaying aggressive strong humanoid lizard(?) people that reproduce quickly.

I really think they wanted this to be grey. Like on the surface it seems like the right answer but the races that had to fight the krogan during their rebellion are extremely defensive about doing this.

If they attempted to take over earth i think wed have a different opinion.

Can you even headshot them through their skull plate? Is that a shell on their back. They remind me of the Earth Dragon from Saga Frontier.

Its a do or die situation

Not to mention we seem to only cure the genophage to get their support during the war. I also think theres more countermeasures that they dont want to share.

Probably 1/3 through. I restarted as another class and to fix some quests like i didnt stop the bomb before....
