What does convoluted mean to you? Normally, convoluted is defined as complex and difficult to follow. Confusing is an adjective used to describe something as hard to follow or more complex.

If we were to replace confusing and convoluted in your post, it would read as A story becoming hard to follow at times doesnt mean its difficult to follow.

Now before you focus on the at times part of my original post, it is worth noting that Nomura never specifically said at times in the interview. That was paraphrasing from me. He actually says That always gets really confusing when hes talking about writing the story.

By the definition, however stories can be confusing and hard to follow if you arent getting key details which is more a problem with people skipping out on parts of a larger story then the story itself.

And is he referring to the finished product or the creation of the story there? And in terms of context is there a specific area be makes mention of this in his stories?

Even if you did play all the games between KH2 and KH3, TC, the story in KH3 will still be bewildering and confusing. It's just not a well written story on a basic level of storytelling.

But, yeah, Proud Mode is still basically easy mode. iirc, one of the developers said that they wanted the game to be accessible enough that even their kid could beat it on Proud Mode. Which is a stupid thing to contemplate, since it removes the purpose of difficulty settings in the first place. But whatever, yeah, Critical Mode is the only real challenge (and even then, it's pretty easy after the first couple levels).

I'd say the gameplay is fun, though not great, but the story brings the whole experience down by a lot.

Director and creator Tetsuya Nomura says that while he has a firm grip on where the games story is heading, sometimes the whole thing gets a bit chaotic for him as well. I do have a general storyline in my head, he tells The Verge. What is the most confusing is that, because there are so many characters in this storyline now, its hard to keep track of who actually met who already, he says. Im always like, 'Okay, so who knows who in this situation, and whos meeting this person for the first time? And that always gets really confusing.

Tbh the story is an insane clusterfuck, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
