ChatGPT doesn't reason. It's not designed to do that, and people need to stop pretending like it does because it can reasonably fake reasoning by predicting the most reliable response to a query from the massive quantity of data it scraped.

Almost. Currently the big push is to get it to slur as a way to get it to stop nuking people, afterwards the nukes will be enabled.

If you ask about it any topic you have more than a surface level knowledge of then you realise pretty quickly that it's not as smart as everybody pretends.

I work in software dev and keep hearing people say stuff like "ChatGPT is going to replace you!" but while the code it writes might be functional in most cases it usually isn't good code.

Ask it to summarise the plot of any movie, book, or game and it's very likely that there'll be at least one error in there too.

The language processing capability is incredible but it has a lot of holes in the knowledge area imo.

Yeah, I've been using ChatGPT to get a basic code framework going, but it still requires a lot of tweaking.

chatGPT is as smart as the average of readily-available text produced by humanity.

The worst part is that I keep seeing comments on posts and articles where people claim they are using ChatGPT as a resource to learn about technical subjects they don't understand...because they don't understand it is full of shit.
