Its very boring cause Paragon is being a good guy and good things happen from essentially every paragon choice while renegade is being bad and bad outcomes.

There would be choices that sounded grey or that even the other choice might have good results but if it got you renegade points then bad consequences would happen later.

Theres seems to be no good renegade rewards, weapons, powers or characters exclusive to this path.

This is my only real gripe with these 2 games. Ill play 3 soon.

My friend is playing through the series just now too, and he said it's just "choose the blue option every time".

I was really expecting a lot of:

Paragon: You did the morally right thing. Good job.

Renegade: You sacrificed many but got this awesome gun!

This never happens.

Not quite accurate.

It's choose the blue or the red option every time. Pick a lane and stay in it until ME3 where the system is reworked to allow you to play more mixed and still hit dialogue checks.

Paragon/Renegade are less about rewards and more about how you flavor your Shep. Are you space cop Superman or space cop Punisher?

Paragon doesn't have stuff like this either though.

But then theres literally no moral dilemma here. A major reason to play evil in other games is for the powers/characters/rewards. If its literally be good and get good results or be bad and get bad results: i dont even understand the choice.

I've been itching to replay these games cause I had ablast playing the remasters last year but I can't get over playing renegade. I feel like the choices just limit your rewards and kills off team mates. Is it worth it to play through the trilogy as a renegade shep? I'd start it up right now if so.

What kills me is all the options of Cerberus being like "Save that thing and dont destroy it so we can gain info on fighting the enemy!"

This is always the bad choice and you should always say the "This is wrong and bad so im destroying it!"

Thats always right.

Renegade isn't evil though, there's not meant to be a moral dilemma. Renegade doesn't even get "bad results" just different results.

It doesn't do this in any way, shape, or form.

Thats pretty much every modern rpg. If you want choices that actually matter play pc rpgs from 1997 up until 2004ish.

True until the third game
The renegade path ends up with fewer war assets than the paragon path

Which makes sense an unlikable jerk isn't someone who is gonna be able to rally the galaxy

I disagree with those saying renegade doesnt affect things too badly. It distinctly has some pretty bad results all throughout.

Does that count renegade interrupts? Because several of those are really good

I remember there's a renegade option on the garrus mission, you can kill the mechanic working on this assault bot that shows up towards the end of the mission and if you do, it will have less health.

Not all renegade options are useless but I will say MOST are so laughably edgy or even evil. There's definitely no grey in mass effect.

The only renegade option I disagreed with was telling Jack to kill that one guy instead of Jack making the choice.

Theres more of that in 3 that worked better. They introduced a new way to measure influence, but options and responses werent locked out just because you were paragon or renegade.

so if you had 50/100 points in influence, you could choose either the paragon or the renegade option. But in 2 it would work like you need 50/100 in paragon to be able to choose the paragon option and 50/100 to be able to choose the renegade option.
