Well, technically I've seen the pilot before a few years ago. Just never have the free time then to watch the rest. I've been spoiled of who the killer is, or at least I think I have if it really even matters that much, but spoilers never bothered me anyway.

-Funny seeing both parents of Susan from Seinfeld especially since I was watching clips of them earlier today. Plenty of other familiar faces as well.
-I really like watching shows/movies from around this time (very late 80s-early 90s). The period has a certain charm to it and there's the nostalgia factor as well. Even saw one of those VHS drawer things with the wood grain in the background of a shot.
-Lol at random guy dancing in the hallway.
-What's this Audrey gal's deal?
-Dang everybody is cheating on each other.
-Odd band choice for a biker bar, but ok. They seem to be into it.
-I like there's sort of weird things going, but are reasonably explained like the light flickering in the morgue and the stuffed dear head on the table.
-I've heard this show gets really weird. It's already a little weird at the start with some of what I've mentioned, Ed's wife with the drapes, and the log lady.

Just finished the pilot. Will watch the next episode tomorrow or another day.
-The cop secretary/dispatcher is adorable.
-I already like Agent Cooper.
-I can't take Bobby and not Kevin Bacon seriously as tough guys. The barking in jail was laughable.

No the other not Kevin Bacon, Bobby's redhead friend. I forgot there are two not Kevin Bacons in the show.

I love Grace Zabriskie, Laura Palmer's mother in the show. Such a great actress.

one thing I like about Twin Peaks is how once you get into it, you start to recognize how influential it was, and you can see those influences in a lot of stuff.

Kinda same here. When I watched it the first time I was a Lynch fan from Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway, and honeeeestly Twin Peaks seemed a little cheesy and slow (mostly old). Basically if I took out all the dream sequences, absurd humor and Cooper as a character I'm not sure if I'd be into it because of the story alone.

Worth noting, a few years after that and right before season 3 was about to come out I saw Fire Walk With Me and I think I liked it more, it was kinda brutal.

For anyone who's not into the series, maybe you could check that out.
It's a prequel movie of Twin Peaks and it kinda sums up what really happened with Laura Palmer and basically focuses on her rather than on the detective.

Fire Walk with Me is an absolute banger. Not sure why it was panned back in the day. It's all the best parts of seasons 1 and 2. I know why Twin Peaks lost its popularity back in the day, but I'm also not sure exactly made it popular with the mainstream crowd in the first place.

Yeah, pretty much. Also I think unlike Twin Peaks' comedic tone, this is way darker. Like there's legitimately scary sequences and it's actually deeply sad.

Season 1 and 2 are mostly a daytime soap opera parody with some Lynch weirdness thrown in.
Fire Walk With Me is a good 50/50 balance
Season 3/The Return is full on Lynch weird.

That's definitely true. Has some humorous moments, but it definitely makes use of not being made for TV to do some unnerving things.

Catching an episode before I go in:

-Ed's wife sure is something.
-It just got all Tarantino now with scene with the mill owner's sister
-Random one armed dude
-What didn't this Laura Palmer gal do? Tutoring people in English, tutoring someone with special needs, doing a meals on wheels program, plus whatever else she's been doing...
-I'm shocked Cooper didn't actually ask the log what it saw.
-Hmm, now the weird doctor guy has the locket. Hmm...
