The game is leaving Gamepass soon and people say I have to play it before it is gone. Will I enjoy it to its full capability without knowing anything about the MCU?

It's its own thing. It uses the MCU characterizations and roster but it also pulls from the comics a lot more.

You should probably at least watch the first movie since the game all of the characters are already together and it's easier to create an origin for the team

The characterization of some of the characters is similiar to their MCU counterpart, but a lot of their origin stories are heavily based off from the comic books.

What everyone said. Some things in the game that were easter eggs or background in the movies are fleshed out a little more but aren't that important to the game experience.

One disclaimer though, dialogue is very extensive in this game although it's kind of a necessity in building character relationships like Mass Effect and so if you hate constant talking and shouting in video games you may be annoyed by that element. It's a really fun shooter though and given that this is technically a Squeenix produced game, that's an extraordinary feat it didn't wind up like Forspoken lol.
