it really is. NEET is awesome in theory if it's your money, but if you're mooching off someone else, then it's a problem

not necessarily. NEET stands for Not in Education, Employment, or Training

it is entirely possibly to luck into family money, win the lottery, get good at gambling, or myriad other ways to make money yourself (without being "employed"), but still qualify as a NEET.

the usage of the word, however, is trickier.

you know how people use immigrants for poor or people of color, but expat for white and rich immigrants?

or how Quebec people are theoretically Latinos too (since theyre French) but in reality latino is reserved for the more brown people?

its the same here, NEET has the connotation of someone living off his parents, usually at
his room or a basement, eating Cheetos, etc. rich NEETs are just thought of as men of leisure who live off their capital , and they play golf all day and shit like that
