I used to go to a gym but I've acquired enough workout stuff to do it in the comfort of my home.
My latest piece of equipment is my pull-up stand.
During summer I walk and shoot hoops as well.

I get enough exercise at work that I don't feel the need to exercise just for the sake of it.

I also walk or ride my bike to work.

I like to run the trail at the lake when it's warm out. There's other places too. Sometimes I'll do calisthenics at home too.

I do different assembly projects at my job and one of them was fitting some pipes into a water jet machine at weird angles and using this big ass wrench, I swore it weighed 25.lbs. after doing that shit for a day I didn't really feel like working out at home.

I used to go to Orange Theory, but I ended up turning one of my extra bedrooms into a home gym using similar equipment that I had at the gym. I prefer being able to work out on my own time instead of having to schedule sessions or go at certain times when it's not as crowded.

My hospital has a solid gym, so on occasions I lift there or jog there, but the vast majority of my exercising is a daily five miler that I run outside except for brutal conditions, in which case I use a basement treadmill in the morning.

We hit a small local gym where mostly quiet patrons work out and know each other. I'm friends with the manager personally. Or we just use our modest home gym for rainy days. Came in handy during the pandemic and avoiding January resolution nuts.

At a gym. Used to have a planet fitness membership, until a coworker convinced me to switch to an LA Fitness that's near the office. My office is going to be relocating to a different city soon and after that I'll probably just use the gym that's in the new office building. It's small, but it's cheap and doesn't seem to get that busy.

I'm guessing you pushed yourself too hard. If you're not used to it you need to ease into it. Also sweating and an elevated heart are normal. Being sore for 5 days is another indication you pushed yourself too hard. I can be sore for up to 3 depending on the intensity.

Everything at home now. On days I don't work, 6 mile walk in the morning, 6 mile walk in the evening, 45 minutes on the recumbent cycle before bed, free weights around four times a week, sometimes more or less depending on how I'm feeling. On days I do work sometimes I either do one 6 mile when I get home and 45 minutes on the recumbent cycle before bed, or just one or the other. I usually don't lift weights after or before working a 12 hour shift.
Worked for me so far, went from 340lbs to 230lbs.
