I feel a REmake 3.0 would be preferred over a RE5 remake. Maybe changing the game (with the puzzle sections in tact) for RE1 as a third person shooter

Really Code Veronica is the one that should have been remade. It has so many problems and they could fix just about all of them in a remake

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing while browsing the RE4 remake topic. 5 is weird because I feel like it got a lot of flack at the time for being too actiony but in recent years it seems to be generally well favored. But 360/PS3 era isn't that long ago... is it?

5 deserves it, 6 doesn't

Not really a remake, a different game with the same name.
They could reuse some of the same areas, make them night time and replace the enemies with jogging through hallways.

I'd rather they did the rest of the old one's first. If they can remake 4 I don't see why they couldn't do 5. The only reason to remake 6 would be to remake it from the ground up as a different, not shit, game which I guess I would be down for.

Definitely not RE6. They might do 5 if they're feeling saucy, but honestly I don't think it really needs or even deserves it. And it would be a tough sell trying to do the africa setting again without pissing people off

Code Veronica. After that make some good third-person survival horror RE akin to the RE2 remake set in a new town with zombies and I will be a happy camper.

This. RE6 is RE going all out with the dumb action B-movie stuff and its great. If you can handle the clunky controls (which really incentivize like sprinting around like an action hero and disincentivize the stuff you might imagine, like, cover) it can be a really fun game when it finally gets going.

A good remake could legitimately make RE6 a classic.

They can't really improve the gameplay of RE6 in the action department, sense nothing has really topped it in it's field since. They could adjust it to be more for the purist fans, which would be interesting but not that exciting to me or probably anyone else. That would just be keeping the weak component and getting rid of the strength.

I would fuckin love a game that built on the combat system in 6 tho. Make it a side project, so the one's who don't appreciate the action oriented RE's don't cause an uproar. Doesn't even have to be called Resident Evil. Don't really give a shit.

5 sucked. CV should get it.

Dead Aim remake

I feel like the globally impactful plot lines in Code Veronica and 5 undermine the momentum theyve been building with 7 and 8, smaller scale local horror feels. So I cant see them remaking them anytime soon

They need to make a new original installment but with the gameplay and style of these remakes.

I want to see them redo the first game again in same style as remakes 2-4, or maybe even in the first person style of 7/8 or even better both with ability to swap between them

This seems likely right? The first could use a remake.

I would LOVE a modern Resident Evil game with fixed camera angles though. Could gamers be down for that in 2023 and beyond?
