Just curious. Im interested in it, but Ive never played any of the games in spiritual series.

No. None of the games have a cohesive story.

It is recommended you play Sekiro or Demon's Souls INSTEAD of Elden Ring, but you don't have to play one before.

if you do plan on playing the older Soulsborne games, it's probably better to play through them first, since Elden Ring is better in so many ways and it's cool seeing how the franchise has progressed.

Bloodborne and Sekiro are different enough, though, that outside of some similarities (like "bonfires"), they can be appreciated for a bunch of other things.

If you're curious about the games before they all became similar i-frame dodge combat, there's DeS and DS1 for you though.

If anything it's more like if you want to play any of the old souls games, play them before elden ring. The quality of life stuff in elden ring makes it hard to go back

Bloodborne is the best game by a country mile. Everything else will feel inferior afterwards.

just finished dark souls 3, elden ring is just dark souls 3 but with jump/map/collectable, crafting items/much wider world

it's kinda overwhelming that i think i prefer multi routes you can choose to explore like dark souls 1-3 instead of an open world where you can go anywhere

It might be difficult to go back to the older souls titles after playing Elden Ring. Gameplay mechanics have come a long way.

What chap #2 means is that its recommended to play Bloodborne instead.
