Incredible lengthy single player modes especially if you're into high scores

Future Perfect was a lot of fun, and the guns are pretty neat.

Future Perfect gameplay was such a step down. But it was still fun.

Can't imagine how. The only thing I liked 2 more for was having an alternate fire "button" rather than an alternate fire "mode" but whatever.

Everything else was miles better imo

I doubt they hold up, but I remember really enjoying the SP campaigns on those games back on PS2. I never really played them for MP.

One of the reasons I played it addictively was the bot matches. Wish more shooters had bots.

It depends on whether you like Goldeneye on the N64 as Free Radical was ex-Rare employees who wanted to go even further with Goldeneyes style of gameplay over what Rare wanted to do with Perfect Dark.

What's the single player like? Never tried these games.

My half-brother hated me whenever I would burn him to death from across the map with dual flare guns in Future Perfect multiplayer.

Every one of those scenes killed me. Future Perfect's campaign is hilarious top to bottom. And it plays super well too, really wish they would remaster it and 2 with online play. I know there's that...remake? Being made? But it's been years and I've heard nothing about it so I assume it's DOA

I haven't played the first game, but I know the story mode for that one is pretty barebones. Very little story and each mission is basically just get from point A to point B.

Timesplitters 2 Story mode was great. The story itself is again pretty basic, but the missions have a lot of depth to them. Very memorable.

Future Perfect is where they really started to care about the story though. Unlike the other two games, this is the first time you play as a single character throughout the entire campaign. Very humorous and enjoyable campaign.

Definitely not but I wasn't aware that Deep Silver announced in 2021 that the OG Free Radical was working on a new TimeSplitters so who knows, maybe there is hope.

2 absolutely. It plays like Goldeneye, right down to floating guns and the generic reload animation.

I liked playing as Duckman or the giant hand. There's also that dude who wears a robot costume made out of cardboard boxes who's hilarious.

I like the campaigns more than Goldeneye

Also, these games probably have the best and most varied soundtrack of any series I've played.

I really liked how the levels in 2 were like little vignettes featuring different characters in different settings, and each one had its own sort of personality without going too deep into what was actually happening or why

I mean it's easy to be skeptical about these kinds of fan projects, especially when they have such long development times. But judging from what I remember seeing in that video, Rewind does look to be in a pretty good state right now.

Rewind is being done by people in their free time with brand new assets made from the ground up. It ain't gonna happen fast.

Plus their development pipeline was a nightmare in the beginning

Well I'm surprised, I legit haven't heard anything about Rewind in years and figured it was dead, especially with the Timesplitters game being announced in 2021. Cool, let's hope it's good stuff.

Chinese Chef. I dont know why either, just that that was my character whenever my friends were over and wed play this on the GameCube.

I picked Monkey because he was literally short and you had to aim down >.>

Oh man, I played TS2 for years back in the day. Sentrybot, monkey, so many unique characters. And the story was legit. They did difficulty levels in a way that the harder the difficulty the more you had to complete in the level.

I'd love a remaster with updated controls.
