Imagine Die Hard but John McClane has a cell phone. It'd the movie would end in 30 minutes

I've seen the idea that not knowing what a rundown is might have helped him keep his job. The theory goes that Charles was asking for a client list so he could fire Jim and distribute the clients to other salesmen.
