Like all platitudes, it has its place but only morons and sociopaths would insist that it's universally true. Humans are emotional, social animals and words are how we communicate. To say that words are unimportant is just dumb. >_>

But for like, five year olds whose most scathing remarks are stuff like "lint licker" and "shitapottamus" it's probably a useful tool to teach coping mechanisms and how not to react disproportionately to petty insults.

This episode was banned in Japan because it offended hibakusha (victims of the atomic bombings) due to the design of the Alien Spell, which resembles an atom bomb survivor, complete with keloid scars. Hibakusha were subject to terrible discrimination in Japan and the episode was regarded to be in poor taste. However, the episode was shown on TNT via the Cinar English dub. The episode was omitted when the show was released on DVD and Blu-ray in the United States and even on the Tsuburaya Channel on YouTube.
