I just posted a update to a video were this guy was suplexed by the police. And before that I was hearing people talk about the police need more training this and that. And even people on the left talk about police training.

No they fucking don't. You don't need training not to be a fucking asshole and throw people around. You don't need fucking training to know not to shoot people in the back, you don't need fucking training to not harass people for playing basketball in the park.

If I went to Wendy's and the person behind the counter went out of there way to be horrible. Spit in my food, was slow, and fucking shot me. No one would be suggesting that they need more training. But some how police get this pass .

I guess I need more training rather than to be fired and blacklisted.

There's a lot that needs to be done with police reform. Better training isnt going to magically undo the absolute pig shit culture they have, but it needs to happen regardless.

police need accountability instead of protections. strict rules, no union, and a federal registry/licensing system so that they can't get fired then rehired one town over

Stricter training requirements might sort out the wheat from the chaff, at least

There are over half a million police officers in the US. Its quite foolish to brand all of them as abusive, civilian murderers.
Every occupation has bad apples. If an abusive civilian-murdering cop was such a common thing, imagine what our society would look like. Quit parroting stupidity you see on CNN and other pandering news outlets.

The difference is that when you do grossly unethical shit in other occupations you get immediately dismissed without recompense or face some kind of legal justice, whereas cops get transferred to a different department

When people talk about police brutality it's a commentary on the system that protects bad apples.

I'm not sure what you want other than a choir of "abolish the police" which is just insane.

There's a lot that needs to be fixed with the policing system in the US, and better training is just one of those things. It's also important to note that a statement like better training is not only about the amount of training, but the quality and type of training as well.

While i'm not going to knock more/better training. The entire system is broken to the extent where training doesn't really matter.

Cops have ridiclously low standards and no accountability. Republicans protect them and the police unions at all costs so open corruption is absolute.

Courts, lawyers and prisons are all designed to profit from convictions so there is incentive to arrest, charge and incarcirate people. Especially young males.

The war on drugs keeps a constant loop of crime which is then used to justify the above

The US has the largest prison population in the world and the "I was a minor criminal, went to prison, now I'm a major criminal" meme isn't even a joke. It's a frequent reality.

So again I ask, since you didn't actually answer the question:

Even still, any money the government gives police departments for "more training" will just go to buy more sup-ed up patrol vehicles and military equipment they don't need.

The whole system is rotten and needs to be redone. The police unions have to go for sure.
