The fire one's okay but but electric and ice ones where it plays defensive are where it loses me.
I figured the point of this fight was it's the DMC3 version but he's not chained to the wall, it'd be nice if 2/3 of the wasn't him backing off or running to the centre and pretending he was chained to the wall.

I kinda don't like that he opens himself up with the whole hugely telegraphed explosion wave. Especially against a guy with DSD Round Trips, DSD Drive, the meteors, that double Kalina Ann laser beam and SDT. Unbecoming of a mission 16 boss. It's crazy slow too, literally the first boss in DMC4 Berial who King Cerberus boss even directly shit talks feels like he can fire an explosion wave faster than this guy.

It's like they went okay look we wanted to make sure this guy got to show off all three phases so we gave him a lot of health. To make up for how boring the fight could become we're also gonna make him flashier than he is threatening and easy to score free damage off of.

At least they were nice enough to give him a unique buster grab unlike Cavaliere, Gilgamesh and Urizen.

Well I'm glad you liked it but whatever that means, it doesn't sound like a very substantial or coherent reason to like it.
There's more issues, I was just trying to be nice.
I didn't even get into the music, the way you can climb on top of Malphas and Gilgamesh but not KC or the weapon you get after the fight.

The worst thing is a huge missed opportunity.
This boss is specifically a king and is all about referencing old games.
...And they don't do King? Yeah. Here's your crown.
Like in a few missions in the Vergil fight they're gonna reference literal reboot dialogue but they're not gonna do the best line in the series when a prime opportunity arises?
