A shape-shifting robot that looks like a cross between a Lego figure and the T-1000 from Terminator 2 has been filmed melting itself to escape through the bars of a miniature jail cell.
Researchers in the US and China developed a material that reacts to magnetic fields and could eventually be used in medical procedures. The robot can also jump and climb, said the team.

I have to applaud their marketing skills. Very little about the actual title is actually true but it gives the appearance of truth while still displaying the point of the experiment.

According to the article it just turns itself into a molten chunk that has to them be recast in a new mold.

If anything this is a security system that would be used to prevent Terminators. It literally stops the robot in its tracks.

Well, with current technology. Im sure in the distant future it can be refined to be recast on the fly like Edward Elric can do
