What a game. Cant believe I slept on that way back during the 360 days! That remake was top notch, I loved everything about it. Was a blast, and looked gorgeous on the Series X.

Are the second and third worth a play through? Theyre on Game Pass. Wonder how bad the graphics look in comparison.

I hear the third went the way of Dino Crisis and turned into a CoD clone.

Id suggest waiting for the remake of the sequel tbh. Theyre pretty much guaranteed to make it.

Otherwise, people say the sequel is the best one.

I loved Dino Crisis haha. So it turned from survival horror to run and gun by the 3rd?

The second is worth playing, but the third is the personification of everything bad about gaming. It went full on co-op action shooter with a heavy emphasis on cash shop purchases, to the point where if you play it solo the story doesn't even make sense because the partner that you're supposed to be playing alongside just pops up and cut scenes and you barely know them.

EA. They were basically like "Dead Space isn't selling as amazingly as we want it to" so they forced the devs to put in microtransactions, more action, and co-op in an attempt to sell to the common denominator. It even begins as a generic cover shooter fighting against other soldiers so it makes you wonder what kind of game you booted up.

The game had other issues (I thought the story sucked for one) but those were the main things that bogged it down. If Motive ever gets around to remaking 3, I hope they're able to do it justice without all that awful crap in it. Dead Space 2 was excellent though. Linear, but had great setpieces and level design with a gripping story.
