The homeowner allegedly wants the house back for personal use. Move out deadline is July 31st, 2023. If the owners actually plan on living here, then theyre in for a nasty surprise because the landlord pretty much let the place become dilapidated. I have to use seven or eight buckets to catch the water from the broken gutters, otherwise the house will be surrounded by three inches of permafrost ice.

It sucks because Ive been here for over six years, but I have been feeling like I can do better. I definitely appreciate the six month notice, though (no sarcasm). The only problem is that I will probably have to pay two overlapping rent payments for a few months unless they agree to break the lease for me.

plenty of time to look for a place.

wish i had that when a new landlord took over the apartments (couldn't risk moving, very hard to find dog approved places compared to a cat approved)

The owners ARE the landlords. Do you mean the property manager?

I might even see if the same rental agency can help me find something. Im on good terms with them and they have over 500 properties.

Thanks, fam! I learned a lot living here and I feel much more knowledgeable about general maintenance and stuff.

Yes, the property manager. The homeowners rent through the rental agency and otherwise have no involvement in the process.

Now Im sort of long-term stressing because the whole lack of permanence. I know that I will find something, but Im getting worn out with these constant moves. Im at the age where I should have had a starter house, for ten years, but the price went up from $180,000 to $750,000. So homeownership is only for the obscenely wealthy in my city. You cant compete when a realty company overbids buy 50% on every property.
