I think xmen movies are naturally hard to get right. It's like an avengers movie right off the bat. It'll likely fail like snyder justice league. Do you think they'll need to do some standalone mutant movies before going full xmen?

I don't get these people who want it to die. Watch something else. A ton of other movies are still coming out. I'm probably done with MCU too after DS2 but I don't want it to die if people are still entertained by it

They're slowly trickling mutants into the MCU now. They've introduced at least three, with two of them being directly referred to as mutants in one way or another.

Unless you were born around 2012 when the MCU mess started and hence don't have a point of comparison, I don't get why you would make this strange statement.

I can be a start of a downhill trend. The reason the DCEU went out in such a wimper was because they released stinkers after stinkers. If MCU continues this, it could lead to their movies not doing so great in the future. Though with how prevelant the MCU still is in our entertainment, I could totally be wrong as well.

But anyways I think this was a big reason there wasn't that much hype for this movie. It most likely didn't test well with the test audience.

It failed from the start because one of the trinity characters (Superman) is nothing like the character that people have known for 70+ years. When people think movie Superman they imagine Both the Reeves Superman. Batman VS Superman should have been 5 movies down the road. They threw those movies out there with no planning at all. Add in casting people who are horrible people in real life. (Heard and Miller) It was always gonna fail.

So it's nearly 15 years since Iron Man kicked off the MCU

15 years before that was 1993. A year after Batman Returns came out. Basically right when superhero blockbuster franchises started to become a thing. Even then it was still quite a few years away until things really kicked off.

Batman and Jurassic Park are both often credited as the beginning of the modern blockbuster movie too.
