We got a huge one due to our credit for our solar system we installed last year.

Depending on your state even if you dont make enough for the threshold. You get money for just residing in the state in NY it is at least $63. Dont know other states tax laws.

I don't have my form from my stock sales yet, but was at a loss so that should get me more back.

Waiting on some additional documentation, but so far it looks like around 5k back.

It's unusual for it to be so high, but due to moving, having a baby, new house, etc., It was hard for me to figure out the correct withholding information.

Broke even. Will owe about $200 to Feds and get $200 refunded from State.

Im getting around 1300 between federal and state. I dont file with the wife or claim my kids due to me having to owe stupid amounts due to mistakes on my w-4 years ago. So she gets a nice return while I play catch up.

Ive opted to get more money in my check than a lump sum refund once a year, I can save more than what I would get back anyways

I end up paying between $20,000-24,000 a year in taxes. Settlement + gambling winnings + property tax.

I was perfectly fine a few years ago when I typically broke even. Either had to owe a little or got a little back.

Getting like 700 back and another 100 from the state, which is way more than I expected. I normally keep my tax situation pretty tight, my wife switched jobs mid-year, and I sold a car at a profit in 2022 that I had to pay capital gains on.

I owe every year now. Last year it was like $100, but this year it's more.

I used to get a $300ish refund when I was paying student loans because of the interest deduction, but now I don't do that and I also pay tax on interest I get from redeemed savings bonds and my HYSA.

We always owe. My husband has stock options that auto vest because of his age & we dont hang onto them. No hurry to do taxes.

If you don't withhold enough from regular income, i.e. claiming too many dependents on a w4, then it raises the possibility you will owe at the end of the year
