Fighting those bullet sponge Rambo enemies was always annoying. Weren't there dudes who shot explosive arrows with a bunch of explosive barrels all over, too? They can keep the regenerators, though.

There should definitely be less stuff overall. Ideally the game should only be an hour or two long.
Maybe they should just play a cutscene where it's implied Leon went to an island.

The island is by far the weakest part of the game. I'd be okay with them shortening that section. If it was half as long that would help with the pacing.

I wouldn't mind playing with the island.

Like, the reason it's such an abrupt shift was because that's where the GameCube had to switch discs and they didn't want to waste memory (or whatever) putting in the earlier enemies.

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be a problem now.

assuming all the QTE stuff is getting mostly removed too thankfully, which was also really prominent on the island thanks to the stupid krauser fights

Nah I like the lab it was spooky and perfect, plus those creepy enemies that you couldn't beat were really scary.

With modern controls and some adjusting the island can only get better

I've never played it on GameCube and the island is still an abrupt shift. Feels like the game just grinds to a halt. Gameplay wise I'd say it's poor design in general. Instead of using what you learned to do the first two thirds of the game to a greater extent, you suddenly have to play it more like a cover shooter. Especially when the gatling gun enemy is involved.

Oh, it absolutely still is, but you don't have the excuse of the second disc anywhere but the GameCube.

Ports don't address that sort of thing, so I'm wondering how the remake will handle it.
