Tom_Joad 02/10/23 6:33:30 PM #17:	I couldn't figure it out myself until I purchased a 2016 VW GTi. It had automatic forward collision braking as part of it's safety package. And it would trigger once every other week or so... for no reason at all, causing the GTi to brake hard for no reason. Typically on a twisty road with no one in front of me. When I would take it into VW to get it fixed, they could find no fault and said the system was working as designed. So I think that this kind of problem is more widespread than we realize, with these systems causing some of the "brake for no reason" situations on the road. --- Here's a video of the problem in a VW SUV in England. (Turns out the same forward collision warning system is used for all VW vehicles... and had been a known problem with VW vehicles in Europe for some time.)
