Reserving your seating is a million times better than the old method of "Guess we better show up an hour early to make sure we're not stuck in the front row." So you can order popcorn, a burger and fries, pizza, etc., and it comes right to you during the movie. No waiting in a long line to buy your food. It's really great. Especially with how cushy the seats are. There's a pretty noticable height difference between each row, to the point that if someone is walking in the row in front of you, they aren't blocking your view at all. Being able to walk in minutes before the start of the movie knowing the exact seat you want is reserved is worth having to plan ahead, and even if you don't you can still buy tickets at the theater if you really want and gamble on good seats being left. This. Nothing like picking your seat ahead of time and getting there late just enough to skip the ads. But one of the benefits for me personally is that I'm much more likely to see stuff I'm only somewhat interested in, or that I hear good things about, since I'm not paying for individual tickets.
