I legit dont understand it. Seeing grown men through fits over Bugatti not making any more cars with a gas powered engine.

It makes zero sense to me. Do they hang out to the past simply because theyre scared of new? Electric vehicles are SO much faster than gas powered cars.

Big oil contributions but more importantly electric cars are seen as a liberal thing so they oppose it.

I'd think the idea of giving a sweetheart tax break to people who don't actually need it, would be appealing to republicans, tho...

Because there are more cars around that don't rely on a geopolitically important and finite resource that their corporate puppeteers can exploit for insane profits.

Mostly EVs are fine, but I feel it's a combination of a few factors.

Being forced into something, tends to rub people the wrong way and EVs have their own set of shortcomings.

The infrastructure is larger than most grasp, and thus reluctance/slowness is a given. The current electrical grid is already strained and vulnerable as is, so to further pile more onto it leads to more issues. Power's out? Well, you can't cook, see in the dark, use your phone, drive, heat your home while some ass lord in a different zoning lot is unaffected.

Also there's the whole turning a blind eye to the vast strip mining and unethical labor, because one thinks dooting around in their EV that had to come from somewhere, is making a damn difference.

I have nothing against EVs or hybrids personally, and this is from someone that enjoys all things automotive and or mechanical. But some of the stuff I see seriously reminds me of those that don't understand how internet connections or technology in general works, like it's magic with nothing behind it, or simply sucking it down because they're told to by someone else.

They've become the party of reactionaries that can only think to argue against illogical extremes. No ventilation for your gas stove is bad = Liberals coming for your gas stoves to make you use electric, and how could those be good, you've had a gas stove for 50 years!

Alternate meat sources to bring down greenhouse gases caused by meat production = Liberals trying to make you eat bugs (because I guess getting protein from legumes and baked beans is out of the question).

Trying to reduce the alarmingly high, US specific yearly gun death total = Gubment coming for your guns to subjugate you into slavery.
