I think it's just because games don't bother trying to get the product placement. I meant more narrative focused games, I doubt they would ever mention a real world restaurant, company or even celebrity in the Last of Us game, though tbf in Part 2 Joel alludes to Jurassic Park and the Lost World without mentioning them by name. ... I think at least part of it kind of overlaps with the tattoo issue in the sense that if it's shown in a game that means the copyrighted work has been recreated, which isn't the same as simply showing a thing that exists, but also because there's a whole market for paid product placement and games tend to not go that direction.
