Woman liked my profile with the introductory message of:

"You're 35..and open to a short term relationship as well as a long. That's a problem. You might want to change that to long term if you want matches. Just trying to help out :)"

For those not familiar, Hinge gives you the option of your dating intentions: life partner, long term relationship, long term open to short, short term open to long, short term, figuring out my dating goals, and prefer not to say.

The reason I used the option with the 'open to short' included is because a lot of women are still figuring out what they want to do on the apps and I'm not someone who is going to pressure every match with LET'S BE TOGETHER! Think it's important to build to something.

But thanks for the advice I guess?

short term is seen as a red flag both for men and women

just say long term regardless

Long term is literally the priority with how this is structured. It also hasn't hindered my ability to get matches. In 10 days I've had 50+ likes initiated by women themselves and 7 of the 26 likes I have sent have matched back.

Hell, most women don't even list their intentions.

Woman gives you advice on what women want. You disagree and decide you know what women want lol.

Ah yes. This sole woman (the one who sent this message) who has now tried to match with me for a second time, despite me listing being open to short, speaks for all women. They are indeed of hive mind.

I'll tell my date tomorrow that we should just cancel because apparently she hasn't fallen in line with the standards of women.

My gut says she wouldn't have dated you anyway even if you just had long term relations checked. I wouldn't worry about it unless you stop getting any dates.

It's funny as I just mentioned in my last post that this is the second time she has tried to match with me over the last few months (restarted my profile after I ended something with another woman). But also...my dating intentions literally state I'm looking for long term haha.

Imagine a guy saying this to a woman. We would label him a neckbeard because it's a weird fucking thing to say to someone, despite what your intentions are.
