I too got got by a gacha. I played it for about seven years, though, so even though I spent stupid money on it, I think it worked out to roughly what an mmo would have been.

Ive been playing feh since launch and hate myself for doing it despite having some fun cos I spend feh pass and other bundles and then mostly regret it when I think back like "I could have bought a better tv or better phone with that money"

Now that I remember it I bought Lawbreakers day 1. I dont regret the purchase because it was fun as hell but I regret forcing two of my clan mates to buy it

Bought a fight stick for $100, maybe put in 10 hours overall with it.

I spent like $20 on this attachment for your Xbox controller that allows you to attach your phone to it so you can play gamepasz games on your phone with the controller easily and I never used it

Spent a fair bit of money on cars in the game Hot Wheels Unleashed, I did enjoy collecting them but probably wasn't worth it

I bought the network adapter and Resident Evil outbreak for PS2. Waste of money and the game sucked.

Bought a second wii fit board at a goodwill bc it had the box and manuels and everything

I spent like two thousand fucking dollars on Phantasy Star Online 2 in 2020. I was making money hand over fist and we got those stimmies. Tryna catch up on everything I missed out on in JP. Then they announce and release New Genesis and the old outfits don't work with the new body styles they made for the new update. I put 1100 hours into it that one year and maybe 5-10 hours in the two years since.

I loved the Wii u for Mario kart 8 and smash 4 the only time I played smash slightly seriously. I got a psp and I had like no interest in the games and only played like 3 games I somehow played the vita more than it despite what people say of the vita.

Wait is that the type of game where you spend for cosmetics or power? Or bit of both? I tried that game when it first came to console and played the opening bit until you go to the town then never played again cos too many games coming out at the time

Cyberpunk 2077. I barely got anywhere in it.

I bought this steering wheel controller designed specifically for the PS2 GTA games. It had a control pad in the middle of the wheel for when you were on foot, which was awkward as hell. The driving with a wheel and gas pedal was fun for about 5 minutes.

Operation Racoon City wasn't that bad, I enjoyed it when I played it. It was somewhat short but it was still fun.

There was way too many things that was broken on release, terrible A.I., broken multiplayer outside the relatively short campaign, and the level design was pretty basic.

I'm no stranger to enjoying the more lower budget things, after all one of my favorite games of the generation was the twin stick shooter monster madness on the 360 and that game is jank as fuck, but operation raccoon city, nah, that was nowhere near worth the 59.99 it costed on launch. I probably would be less ass-blasted about it had I picked it up from gamestop for like 10 bucks or something.

Bought a pair of fairly expensive headphones.
Used them for a week then never touched them again as headphones + glasses = Uncomfortable as all hell.

Idk if it's a dumb purchase yet but I will find out when it arrives on friday

spent like $400 on a fanatec steering wheel setup for forza in the xbox 360 days...and they never released a firmware update to make it compatible with the xbone. So I basically only used it for a year.

You only spend on cosmetics. Base PSO2 is fun but New Genesis is boring as hell.

Yeah I was a bit slow getting in on the smartphone thing so I used to use my wii u's gamepad for displaying f.a.q.s for whatever rpg I was playing, lol. When I think back to it, I actually played my wii u more than the wii. With the wii mine was pretty much just a mario kart machine, a bit of smash bros. brawl and like, wario land shake it thrown in. With the Wii U I played the hell out of monster hunter 3 ultimate HD, smash bros for Wii U, and mario kart 8.

I was crazy hooked on mario kart 8 man. Got into some of the gamefaqs tournaments where the items was set on frenzy rules and it was mad fun (even found someone's saved gameplay where I was in it, bringing up those memories and whatnot):

The only one I can think of is buying an ATI card over a Nvidia one years ago, never making that mistake again.

According to price charting I have a retro game room with an estimated (lol, right) value of $32000, so probably the dumbest purchase I've ever made.

Bought a prebuilt pc from Newegg in 2013. There was some better choices but I went with this one because it came with Watch Dogs. Less than an hour into the game, the power supply sparked and it wouldn't turn on again. I had to find new packaging because my parents threw the original away, had to carry it for 45 minutes to the post office, and had to wait weeks to get back the pc. After getting the pc back I immediately bought a better PSU because I didn't trust the one that returned.

I probably should have skipped out on Xbox One, in hindsight.

I've already played my Series X more in the last 6 months than I ever did my One.

I bought Remothered or some dumb shit like that in the switch without doing any kind of research. It looked interesting and I enjoy a good horror game.
Was the dumbest steaming pile I ever played and Uninstalled it after about 30 mins of playing it.
I learned a hard lesson that day
