I need some context here. All I see about "dying" is Bam getting covid real bad a couple months ago.

tl;dr he's been hanging out with Steve-O again, but then got "loaded" and talked shit about Knoxville and Tremaine, and Steve-O responded. Not really dying, but still doing shit that Steve-O is concerned about.

Seems Bam is an alcoholic and drinking himself to death. Thats how I read it, knowing nothing.

I think he means "dying" in the sense that Bam is a raging alcoholic and if he doesn't make serious changes to his lifestyle he's gonna end up dead.

15 years ago, no one would have put money on Steve-O being the sober one as well as the voice of reason.

Easy money would have been on him being dead.

He's really changed his lifestyle and basically grew up.

Bam talks that talk but can't back it up with actions. My brother is "sober" everytime we talk over the phone and is always "doing so much better" but when we see eachother in person he's a sloppy mess. Addiction fucking sucks. Taking people away from their friends and family slowly but surely. I hope Bam can find a way to get into recovery before it's too late.

That's my point. It's not the right environment for him

I was surprised also when it was announced that Bam would be going on tour with Steve O, but Steve O is sober and maybe he thought Bam would see how well he's doing and maybe get inspired to make changes in his own life. Obviously that hasn't happened though. It's a sad situation all around.

Steve-O is the best sponsor he could have, but Bam just won't change. He's already said before Bam's played the victim and hasn't been accountable the entire time with his addiction, and he's probably over it by this point.

I can't imagine Steve-O hanging out around a lot of drugs or alcohol given his sobriety. Sounds like Bam left Steve-O that night and just got hammered by himself.

It's really difficult to have a loved one who's an addict. My mother is an alcoholic, for example, and it's just painful to talk to her. I hate that I can't even call her for a casual conversation because she'll be drunk or hungover 99% of the time. I remember begging her to not drink the night I found out that I was going to be evicted from my apartment (long story) because I needed to talk to her and not the drunk version of her. She threw a fit and drank anyway.

Addicts can be given all the resources and support in the world but won't change if they don't want to and Bam clearly doesn't want to at this point. My heart goes out to his friends and family who have to watch him kill himself like this. You feel intense guilt for "not helping" and you feel grief over the loss of the person who's still very much alive (for the time being).

He has been for a number of years actually. Steve-O really deserves a lot of credit for turning his life around.

And he 100% has seen how this story will end if Bam doesn't get help, he just knows you can't help someone who won't help himself. Steve-O been through some shit

I hope the other Jackass costars try to reach and help out. Bam needs to remember that he has others friends besides Ryan.

Damn man, sorry you've got to experience that, especially from a parent

I'm not gonna lie, it's been brutal. I never had a good relationship with my father and haven't spoken to him in over eleven years. I'm an only child, so I don't have any siblings to talk to about it. I'm going through a really ugly divorce as well. It's really lonely.

I know I have an addictive personality, so I go out of my way to not fall into the habits that plague my mother. I don't drink at all. I don't smoke. I don't gamble. I easily could to drown out how utterly miserable I am, but I have to make a conscious choice not to. It's hard. I get why people struggle with this stuff.

That's really relatable. I don't drink for similar reasons(my dad was a hardcore alcoholic and this caused so many health issues and eventually the inevitable happened) and also to set a better example for my child.

I'm an addict, 4 years sober . It is NOT easy.

Props to you for sticking to your guns and not giving in.
