Kakapo 01/28/23 7:36:07 AM #4:	Only until I got too old for him to beat. He still used to give my mum a whack or two when I wasn't around. Apparently it was worse when they were both young. Once, he'd sent her to hospital with a broken jaw. Another time he pushed her through a glass door and she almost died of blood loss. One night he thought I was asleep and sucker-punched her in the back of the head for disagreeing with him. I wasn't asleep. Words were exchanged, primarily what he (quite hypocritically) used to say about men who hit women. Blows were exchanged. I threatened to kill him if he ever hit my mum again. There was bad blood between us until the day he died, but he never hit my mum again. Edit: After he returned from a three day jag at the casinos, he tried to gaslight me about A: ever hitting my mum and B: He tried to tell me I just came downstairs and started hitting him, and he never laid a finger on me.
