Probably the main reason

It's to help differentiate itself from Ohio University. Don't even get me started on the confusion of Miami University which is also in Ohio.

A little of everything. I'm a total culture clash with the business school, and it was pretty much impossible to transfer into say the college of arts & science or the compsci school because I had scholarships tied to business. COVID hit in the spring of my freshman year and dissolved any relationships I'd started by that point.

Then in my sophomore year I was harrassed off of the campus council I served on. Because I missed a couple meetings, this gunner freshman who was inexplicably the president of our section continuously called for intervention on me and demanded I resign. There was no opportunity for advancement anyway at that point due to COVID, so I just left them to their make believe zoom council. Deepest irony is that council I chose to serve on was humanity/law focused because I thought I'd fit in better than on the business council.

And so since COVID I never really recovered, and my grades slipped as well due to depression. And finally, everyone on this campus is like, rich and beautiful, and judge people who aren't. (Very different feel from say Ball State, where I didn't feel watched and scrutinized every second when I took classes there in high school). People just feel superficial here to me and it's very difficult to find anyone who shares my interests or way of thinking.

Washington University is not in Washington. The state or DC. What????

(My sister-in-laws child goes to WashU.)
